China State Railway Group delivered 178 million tonnes of coal in November, up 3.2% year on year, the company said in a statement posted on its official Wechat account.
A total of 130 million tonnes of power coal were transported last month, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%, it said.
As of the end of November, 371 power plants directly supplied by railway across the country had coal inventories totaling 86.27 million tonnes, rising 15.2% on the year. That could be used for more than 20 days, according to the statement.
The daily coal loading of the group climbed 2.3% year on year to reach 85,000 wagons, it said.
The group said it is working to meet coal transportation demand at full tilt, as demand for coal used to generate power and heat home has increased clearly after the drop in temperatures since entering the winter season.
