• Haoji railway ships 1st batch of power coal to Guangdong

    sxcoal.com General,  Inland Shipment 2023-12-27 09:49:17

The first train carrying 3,380 tonnes of power coal departed from Jingbian North station on the Haoji railway on December 20 and arrived at the Shaoguan power plant at Wushi station on the Jingjiu railway on December 21, marking the successful launch of the first coal shipment from China's Shaanxi to Guangdong via the Haoji railway, local media reported.

This batch of coal traveled through Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, and Guangdong provinces via the Haoji and Jingguang rail lines, covering a distance of 1,830 kilometers and taking 30 hours.

The successful inaugural shipment of coal from Shaanxi to Guangdong via the world's longest heavy-haul railway demonstrates the commitment of its company to implement the modern logistics transformation and upgrading strategy of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway).

It effectively leverages the strategic corridor for north-to-south coal transportation and plays a vital role in promoting the integration of coal transportation and marketing, serving regional socio-economic development, and ensuring national energy security.

Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd. stated that the power coal shipment to Guangdong via the Haoji railway significantly enhances the coal supply capacity of the province, ensuring the coal supply under extreme circumstances.

Haoji railway, passing through the main coal-producing areas of Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, and Shanxi, has strong risk resistance and efficient transportation capabilities, with direct delivery to Guangdong within two days.

This helps overcome the constraints of highly dependent maritime transportation of power coal to Guangdong and establishes a multi-channel supply pattern, facilitating a stable and secure energy supply for the province.

Furthermore, the successful transportation of power coal to Guangdong effectively stabilizes the seaborne coal prices. With different pricing systems in the production and portside coal markets, the Haoji railway provides opportunities for Guangdong's companies to select resources from different channels.

It also solves the challenge of outbound shipment from major coal-producing areas, facilitating the dispatches of high-grade coal sources.

Guangdong Energy Group endeavors to fully leverage the advantages of the Haoji rail line and continuously deepen and improve the coal industry supply chain to ensure a secure and stable energy supply in the province.
