Japan exported 2.6 million tonnes of iron and steel products in November this year, falling 4.0% month on month and 7.0% on the year, according to the customs statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Over January-November, the country's iron and steel product exports totaled 30.1 million tonnes, up 1.7% from a year earlier, data showed.
Specifically, Japan exported 5.2 million tonnes of iron and steel products to South Korea during the first eleven months, a 4.5% increase year on year, while shipments to China's mainland decreased 29.8% from the previous year to 2.6 million tonnes and the export volume to China's Taiwan dropped 14.4% to 1.5 million tonnes.
Japan's iron and steel product exports to Thailand amounted to 4.3 million tonnes over the given period, down 7.0% from the year-ago level, while that to the US came in at 1.1 million tonnes, diving 3.9% on the year.
