As the safety inspection progresses across coal mines nationwide, at least 18 coal mines have been mandated to suspend operation for the existence of major safety hazards since the beginning of this month, market sources noted. These mines are mainly located in Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi and Gansu.

Powerful typhoon Doksuri, the 5th typhoon of this year, is expected to move northwestward at a speed of 10-15 km/h and make landfall on the junction of Fujian and Guangdong provinces in the morning of July 28, according to the forecast of Central Meteorological Administration. On Jul 26, the Baltic Dry Index recorded its largest single-day increase since March, driven by increased demand for Capesize vessels due to rising South American exports. The Index rose by 105 points, or 11%, reaching 1,067 points, the highest since Jul 17.

Eastern China's Jiangsu province consumed 65.01 TWh of electricity in Jun, dipping 0.21% YoY, showed data from Jiangsu Energy Regulatory Office of National Energy Administration. This brought the total power consumption to 360 TWh in H1, up 5.34% YoY.
