Daily crude steel production at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.08 million tonnes during October 1-10, ticking up 0.81% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily output of pig iron averaged 1.93 million tonnes during the same period, up 1.84% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel dropped 8.37% from ten days ago to 2.03 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily output of crude steel was estimated to increase 0.72% from ten days ago to 2.71 million tonnes. The daily pig iron production is anticipated to be 2.38 million tonnes, up 1.75% compared to ten days earlier, and daily finished steel output at 3.54 million tonnes, dipping 0.06%.
As of October 10, CISA key member steel mills held 16.36 million tonnes of finished steel in stock, 7.31% or 1.11 million tonnes higher than in late-September yet up 3.53% or 557,700 tonnes compared with the same period in August. The volume was 0.27% or 44,200 tonnes higher than the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
