China exported 0.44 million tonnes of coal in December 2023, surging 34.7% from a year earlier yet down 21.43% from a month ago, according to latest data released by General Administration of Customs.
Coal export value in December was $99.04 million, rising 1.7% on the year but falling 13.61% on the month. That put the average export price at $225.09/t, falling $79.9/t from the preceding year but rising $20.38/t compared to last month.
China exported a total 4.47 million tonnes of coal in 2023, up 11.7% from a year ago, which was worth $1.15 billion, down 6.6% year on year, data showed.
The country's coke and semi-coke exports totaled 0.79 million tonnes in December, 53.7% higher than the same period last year, and the value of which increased 30% from the year-ago level to $230.16 million.
Total coke exports reached 8.79 million tonnes in 2023, down 1.4% year on year; the export value was $2.5 billion, decreasing 37.8% decrease compared with the same period last year.
China's exports of cement and cement clinker totaled 0.34 million tonnes in December, increasing 37.1% year on year, and the value unchanged from the year-ago level to $22.72 million.
The cumulative cement exports were 3.83 million tonnes through the whole year of 2023, soaring 104.6% year on year; the export value increased 48.7% on the year to $287.87 million, data showed.
