Eastern China's Jiangsu province consumed 73.21 TWh of electricity in December, a 10.67% rise year on year, showed data from Jiangsu Energy Regulatory Office of the National Energy Administration on January 22.
This brought the total power consumption to 783.30 TWh throughout 2023, a 5.86% increase from a year earlier.
The highest power load of 2023 reached up to 131.28 GW, up 3.47% on the year.
In December, Jiangsu produced 58.66 TWh of electricity, rising 12.51% year on year, sending the total to 627.25 TWh in January-December 2023, up 5.44% compared with the preceding year.
As of the end of December, Jiangsu's installed power generation capacity stood at 179.66 GW, data showed.
The cumulative average utilization hours of power generation in the province in 2023 was 3,665 hours, decreasing 97 hours from the previous year.
The province added 18.88 GW of power capacity in the whole year of 2023, including 3.1 MW of hydropower, 3.86 GW of thermal power, 331.2 MW of wind, 14.21 GW of solar and 474.9 MW of stored energy.
