Coal inventories at 34 rail-supplied power plants in northeastern China's Heilongjiang province and northern China's Hulun Buir city in Inner Mongolia increased 1.73 million tonnes from a year earlier to 7.99 million tonnes up to now, according to chinanews.com.
Based on the current daily consumption, the coal stocks could last for 113 days of power generation.
The daily average of coal loading reached 5,119 trucks in October, an increase of 393 compared to the same period last year.
Some areas in northeastern China have entered the heating season. China Railway Harbin Group is making every effort to promote the initiation of ensuring the power coal supply, such as prioritizing the direct transportation of coal from eastern Inner Mongolia to northeastern China.
In October, Hailaer East railway station of Harbin Group has been operating an average of 17 coal-dedicated lines per day, effectively improving transportation efficiency with the total volume at 517,000 tonnes so far in the month.
Since September 29, Harbin Group has loaded an average of 5,066 wagons or 2.32 million tonnes of coal per day, rising 8.1% from the year prior.
