China Energy Investment Corporation (CHN Energy), the country's biggest coal and power producer, had a total 115 GW of clean power capacity at the end of 2023, according to a statement by the group.
The installations, representing 35.5% of its power generation capacity, would help CHN Energy to overshoot its target of 40% renewables by the end of 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).
The state-owned group has focused on the expansion of wind and photovoltaic power capacity in China's deserts and deployments of offshore wind as the major part of its effort to meet the goal.
Green hydrogen and ammonia, storage and biomass, tidal and geothermal projects have also been deployed in a bid to diversify its portfolio, it said.
