Heavy-load Xinshuo railway, operated by China Energy Investment Corporation (CHN Energy) achieved a single-day coal transport volume of 605,000 tonnes on January 6, 2024, notching a record-breaking level, according to CHN Energy.
Total cargo handlings reached 613,500 tonnes on the same day, also surpassing the previous single-day record. This sent the year-to-date freight volume to 3.25 million tonnes in 2024, making significant contributions to ensuring stable energy supply.
Xinshuo rail line has operated a total six 20,000-tonne trains as of January 6, alleviating the pressure on Shenchi south station for cargo loading and unloading.
The railway also continued to strengthen anti-freezing measures for cargoes, improve the loading and unloading efficiency of heavy-haul trains, and ensure smooth operation of locomotive maintenance, thus providing support for winter energy supply.
Since the beginning of this year, Xinshuo railway has diligently fulfilled its energy supply tasks and focused on key aspects such as reasonable transportation organization and leveraging unified command and control to ensure smooth transitions, maximize the capacity of heavy trains and materialize its integrated plan.
