Colombia exported 7.35 million tonnes of coal in November last year, up 47.84% on the year and 50.81% month on month, the highest level since May 2022, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics.
Comparatively, coal exports in November 2022 were 4.97 million tonnes, while the export volume for October 2023 was 4.87 million tonnes.
Total coal exports in the month amounted to $820 million, down 24.31% year on year yet up 33.02% on the month, data showed.
The average coal export price was calculated at $111.74/t, indicating a decline of 48.8% compared to the previous year and 11.8% from the previous month.
During January-November 2023, Colombia's coal exports totaled 53.82 million tonnes, decreasing 3.02% from 55.5 million tonnes a year earlier. The export value reached $8.4 billion, 24.68% lower than the preceding year, data showed.
