Northeast China's Manzhouli border port imported 5.28 million tonnes of coal in the year to November 27, surging 109.5% year on year, local government said.
The high imports effectively helped ensure the heating demand of coal-fired heat and power enterprises and residential use in Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning in northeastern China and also the eastern Inner Mongolia, the city's news outlet said.
Manzhouli border port focused on the increase of coal shipment and made efforts to reduce the waiting time of trains at station with scientifically formulated shipment plans, it said.
The port has fully released the coal loading and transportation capacity with skilled workers to lower operation time, and strengthened inspections and maintenances of equipment to avoid accidental failures, it stated.
