    Chinese steel prices edge down in mid-Jan, NBS

    Prices for the  majority of steel products in China declined in January 11-20, showed the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

     

    The average price of construction steel rebar (HRB 400, 20mm) at 25 major cities fell 45.9 yuan/t or 1.2% from ten days earlier to 3,905.7 yuan/t.

     

    Wire (HPB 300, 6.5mm) prices averaged 4,116.6 yuan/t over the period, down 38.1 yuan/t from ten days ago.

     

    Prices of  mid-thick plate (Q235, 20mm) averaged 4,084.2 yuan/t, 11.4 yuan/t or 0.3% lower than the preceding session.

     

    Hot-rolled plate (Q235, 3mm) declined 39.0 yuan/t or 1.0% to 4,050.5 yuan/t.

     

    Seamless steel tube grew 9.7 yuan/t or 0.2% to 4,603.5 yuan/t.

     

    Angle steel dropped 50.0 yuan/t or 1.2% to 4,163.2 yuan/t, data showed.
