Germany imported 2.66 million tonnes of hard coal in November 2023, reaching the highest since March last year, according to preliminary data from German Statistics Bureau.
The imports declined 1.65% year on year but rose 35.35% month on month, data showed.
The import value stood at €602 million (about $652.5 million), down 23.89% on the year but surging 53.50% on the month. That put the average import value at €225.84/t, down 22.61% from a year ago yet up 13.41% from the previous month.
During the first eleven months of 2023, Germany's hard coal imports totaled 24.66 million tonnes, down 23.71% on the year, with the value of imports falling 45.23% year on year to €5.65 billion.
