China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, reported its polyolefin output was down 3.8% year on year but rose 3.3% on the month to 121,000 tonnes in October.
Polyolefin sales increased 0.8% on the year yet fell 4.7% month on month at 121,000 tonnes, , according to figures released by the company on November 15.
China Coal Energy produced 65,000 tonnes of polyethylene, down 3% from a year ago and unchanged from a month ago. The production of polypropylene was 62,000 tonnes, dropping 4.6% year on year yet up 6.9% month on month.
Sales of polyethylene rose 9.8% year on year but dropped 4.5% month on month to 67,000 tonnes. Polypropylene sales were 54,000 tonnes, down 10% on the year and 3.6% on the month.
The production of urea decreased 2.2% year on year but increased 1.7% month on month to 182,000 tonnes, and urea sales were 156,000 tonnes, climbing 0.6% year on year but falling 13.3% month on month.
In October, the company produced 160,000 tonnes of methanol, down 14% year on year and 10.6% month on month and sold 157,000 tonnes, down 14.2% year on year and 12.8% month on month.
