Ceke border crossing, China's second-largest inland port with Mongolia, imported 1.83 million tonnes of coal in January 2024, surging 143.4% from the year ago, showed data from local authorities.
In January, the import value came in at 1.19 billion yuan ($158.4 million), data showed.
The port management department of Alxa League stated it will accelerate the "ten in and six out" freight channels into use, and steadily promote cross-border transportation.
New modes such as container transportation, AGV unmanned driving, and intelligent heavy truck transportation will be continuously implemented to further improve the efficiency of port customs clearance and ensure the delivery of 20 million tonnes of coal import target.
The league also vowed to reach 20 million tonnes of cargo imports and exports in 2024, with full-scale promotion of cross-border transportation mode.
