China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, produced 11.09 million tonnes of commercial coal in October, jumping 21.1% or 1.93 million tonnes from the preceding year, said the company in a statement released on November 15.
The October output was 1.6% or 180,000 tonnes higher than a month ago, according to the statement.
The company's commercial coal sales rose 18.3% year on year and 13.3% or 2.76 million tonnes month on month to 23.53 million tonnes last month.
Sales of self-produced coal increased 14.4% from a year earlier and 11.6% from the preceding month to 11.73 million tonnes in October.
Total commercial coal production reached 112.26 million tonnes in the first ten months of 2023, up 11 on the year; sales stood at 238.33 million tonnes, rising 6.3% compared to the same period last year.
Self-produced commercial coal sales picked up by 9.1% to 111.4 million tonnes during the period.
