China's power generation of all sources totaled 704.4 TWh in October, a 5.2% rise from a year earlier, showed data from the National Bureau of Statistics on November 15.
The year-on-year growth retreated by 2.5 percentage points compared with that of September. Daily power generation averaged 22.72 TWh in October.
The output of thermal power, mostly coal-fired, totaled 465.4 TWh in October, up 4.0% year on year; hydropower increased 21.8% YoY to 122.3 TWh; wind power 56.3 TWh, down 13.1% YoY; nuclear power 35.9 TWh, dipping 0.2%; solar power 24.4 TWh, up 15.3%, the NBS data showed.
During January-October, China's power generation totaled 7,333.0 TWh, a 4.4% rise from 2022.
Thermal power generation totaled 5,107.7 TWh in the first ten months this year, up 5.7% year on year; hydropower declined 7.1% YoY to 980.5 TWh; wind power climbed 10.8% YoY to 642.4 TWh; nuclear rose 5.3% to 358.7 TWh; and solar gained 12.5% to 243.6 TWh.
