China exported a total 18,800 tonnes of methanol in April, down 25.1% year on year but up 57.98% month on month, customs data showed.
Exports in the first four months stood at 43,800 tonnes, about 25.61% of last year's total exports.
The top two methanol destinations in April were South Korea, with shipments at 15,002 tonnes, up 275% MoM, and Vietnam, at 2,999 tonnes, down 39.88% MoM.
In January-April, South Korea remained the top methanol buyer, importing 19,000 tonnes, about 43.38% of China's total methanol exports during the first four months, followed was Indonesia, with shipments at 14,000 tonnes. Vietnam ranked third with imports of 8000 tonnes.
Among all the provinces, eastern China's Jiangsu exported the most methanol last month, at 17,999 tonnes, surging 348.53% MoM, and accounting for 95.74% of the country's total.
