    Colombia's 2023 coal exports dip 1.05%

    Colombia exported 60.29 million tonnes of coal last year, dipping 1.05% from 2022, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics.

     

     

    Total coal exports in 2023 amounted to $9.22 billion, down 24.94% from $12.29 billion a year ago, data showed.

     

    In December 2023, coal exports from Colombia increased 19.08% from the year prior to 6.47 million tonnes, falling 11.91% month on month; export value fell 28.13% year on year and 0.96% on the month to $813 million.

     

    The average coal export price was calculated at $125.63/t, indicating a decline of 39.64% compared to the previous year but up 12.44% from the previous month.
