Coal throughput through China's Manzhouli rail border port, which borders Russia and Mongolia, surged by 109% year on year in 2023, according to China Railway Harbin Group Co., LTD.
The annual shipments including imports and exports of the border port totaled 21.07 million tonnes in 2023, 5.51 million tonnes or 35.4% higher than 2022, which hit the highest over past ten years, data showed.
The deliveries of ore fine increased 45.9% from the previous year.
Manzhouli border port focused on the increase of transport efficiency of imported ore fine and coal, making efforts to reduce the waiting time of trains at station under the deployment of the China Railway Harbin Group.
The average reloading operation time of a train contracted nearly 1 hour and the transport efficiency increased by 20%. The group had also put new intelligent equipment into use at the Manzhouli port due to increasing shipping volume, contributing to a 15% rise of operating efficiency.
