Global crude steel production of the 71 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (WSA) rose 3.3% from a year ago to 146 million tonnes in November, showed data from the WSA.
In November, the top ten crude steel producers were China, India, Japan, the U.S., Russia, South Korea, Germany, Turkey, Brazil and Iran.
China produced 76.1 million tonnes of crude steel in the month, up 0.4% year on year, and India's output rose 11.4% from a year ago to 11.7 million tonnes.
Japan reported its crude steel production at 7.1 million tonnes in November, down 0.9% on the year. The output of the U.S. increased by 6.1% on the year to 6.6 million tonnes.
During the month, crude steel output in Russia was estimated to increase 12.5% from a year ago to 6.4 million tonnes. Crude steel output of South Korea rose 11.9% from the previous year to 5.4 million tonnes, while that of Germany declined 2.4% to 2.7 million tonnes, data showed.
Crude steel production in Turkey increased 25.4% year on year to 3.00 million tonnes, and that of Brazil increased 3.8% on the year level to 2.7 million tonnes, while that of Iran rose 7.6% on the year to 3 million tonnes.
In January to November, crude steel output worldwide witnessed a marginal year-on-year increase of 0.5% to 1.72 billion tonnes.
During the period, China, India, Japan, the U.S. and Russia respectively produced 952 million tonnes (+1.4% YoY), 128 million tonnes (+12.1% YoY), 80 million tonnes (-2.8% YoY), 73.9 million tonnes (-0.5 % YoY) and 70.2 million tonnes (+6.4% YoY).
Crude steel production in South Korea, Germany, Turkey, Brazil and Iran in first eleven months this year totaled 61.3 million tonnes (+1.1% YoY), 32.8 million tonnes (-4% YoY), 30.5 million tonnes (-6.1% YoY), 29.3 million tonnes (-7.1% YoY) and 28.1 million tonnes (+0.6% YoY), respectively.
