China consumed 763 TWh of electricity in November, rising 11.6% on the year, according to data released by the National Energy Administration on December 15.
The non-residential sectors demonstrated varied growths. The primary industries, primarily the agricultural sector, recorded a 12.2% year-on-year increase to consume 9.6 TWh of electricity. The secondary industries, mainly the industrial sector, utilized 527.7 TWh of electricity, marking a 9.8% rise over the year. The tertiary industries, largely the service sector, used 132.1 TWh of electricity, up 20.9% from the year prior.
For the residential segment, power consumption in November also saw a 10.0% increase year on year to 93.6 TWh.
From January to November, China's power consumption grew 6.3% from a year earlier to 8,367.8 TWh.
The primary industries consumed 117.3 TWh of electricity, an 11.5% rise year on year. The secondary industries used 5,517.9 TWh of electricity, a 6.1% year-on-year growth. The tertiary industries utilized 1,512 TWh, up 11.3% year on year. The residential power consumption advanced by 1.1% year on year to 1,220.6 TWh.
