Northwestern China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region produced 82.39 million tonnes of raw coal from January to October, rising 4.4% on the year, with the growth expanding by 0.3 percentage point (pp) compared with the first nine months, showed data from the local statistics bureau.
Production of general bituminous coal reached 76.86 million tonnes, up 4.2% from a year earlier; coking coal output rose 7.7% to 4.68 million tonnes, data showed. Furthermore, anthracite output increased 1.2% year on year to 855,200 tonnes.
In January-October, Ningxia's raw coal sales stood at 43.67 million tonnes, down 36.5% from a year ago. As of end-October, raw coal stockpiles across the region amounted to 3.63 million tonnes and enough for 25 days' worth of usage.
Ningxia's industrial electricity production reached 187.62 TWh from January to October, up 2.5% from the preceding year. Coal-based power generation was 139.12 TWh, down 0.6% year on year, while renewable generation (hydro, wind and solar, etc.) came in at 48.50 TWh, rising 12.3% from the year prior.
