Shanxi consumed a total of 23.11 TWh of electricity in October, up 9% year on year (YoY), accelerating by 4.7 percentage points from September growth, showed data from the provincial statistical bureau.
Total power consumption rose 5.1% YoY to 235.18 TWh during first ten months of 2023, the bureau said.
For the non-residential segment, the primary industries, mainly the agricultural sector, consumed 0.19 TWh of electricity in October, an 11.4% rise YoY, with January-October figure up 10.2% to 2.06 TWh.
The secondary industries, mainly the industrial sector, used 17.79 TWh of electricity in October, an 8.7% increase YoY, with industrial power consumption at 17.6 TWh, up 9%. In January to October, power consumption by secondary industries picked up by 4% to 174.22 TWh.
The tertiary industries, mainly the service sector, used 3.05 TWh of electricity in October, up 18.7% YoY, sending total volume from January to October up 11% to 32.72 TWh.
Residential power consumption fell 0.8% on the year to 2.08 TWh in October, and 24.19 TWh over January-October, up 5.9% YoY.
