Chinese key steel mills registered an increase of 2.64% in daily output of crude steel over February 1-10 compared to previous ten days, according to data released by China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
These steel mills produced 2.07 million tonnes of crude steel averagely each day during the period, up 0.38% from a year ago.
Daily production of pig iron averaged 1.85 million tonnes, up 4.0% from ten days ago but down 2.13% from the year prior, while that of finished steel declined 2.79% from ten days ago to 1.91 million tonnes, which also were 1.08% lower year on year, data showed.
During the same period, the daily output of crude steel in China was estimated to be 2.66 million tonnes, rising 1.11% from ten days earlier. That of pig iron was 2.20 million tonnes, up 3.51% compared to previous ten days. Daily finished steel output decreased 1.54% from ten days ago to 3.58 million tonnes.
As of February 10, key steel mills held 15.10 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, increasing 23.78% from ten days ago and 4.9% compared to the same period last year.
