Chinese steel products prices experienced both declines and increases in early February (February 1-6), due to the holiday effect, showed the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The average price of construction steel rebar (HRB 400, 20mm) at 25 major cities in China decreased 14.5 yuan/t or 0.4% from ten days earlier to 3,910.6 yuan/t during this period.
Prices of wire (HPB 300, 6.5mm) averaged 4,120.4 yuan/t in the same period, down 13.0 yuan/t or 0.3% from ten days ago.
Prices of common medium plate (Q235, 20mm) stood at 4,141.6 yuan/t, 16.1 yuan/t or 0.4% higher than the preceding session.
Hot-rolled plate (Q235, 3mm) fell 22.7 yuan/t or 0.6% to 4,051.7 yuan/t.
Seamless steel tube increased 20.0 yuan/t or 0.4% to 4,696.9 yuan/t.
Prices of angle steel reached 4,182.4 yuan/t, 4.4 yuan/t or 0.1% higher than the preceding session, data showed.
