Poland's hard coal production was 4.04 million tonnes in December 2023, decreasing 8.8% from a year ago and 13.1% from a month ago, official statistics showed.
Lignite production stood at 3.72 million tonnes in the same month, down 17.2% year on year and 0.8% month on month, data showed.
Poland's total coal production was calculated at 7.75 million tonnes in December, declining 13.0% year on year and 7.6% month on month.
From January-December, Poland's coal production totaled 88.63 million tonnes, down 17.7% from 2022.
Of that, hard coal production was 48.53 million tonnes, down 8.5% on the year, and lignite production dropped 26.6% from the year-ago level to 40.09 million tonnes.
