PT. Kinxiang New Energy Technologies Indonesia, an Indonesian subsidiary of China's Nanjing Iron & Steel Group or Nangang, put its first coke oven (2# oven) into operation on January 6, according to China National Chemical Engineering No.13 Construction Co., Ltd., the constructor of the oven.
The oven belongs to a project with designed production capacity of 3.9 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa).
Located in Tsingshan Industrial Park in Morowali county of Sulawesi province in eastern Indonesia, the project will build a total of six coke ovens each with a chamber height of 5.5 meters.
The project is expected to further expand to 10 Mtpa in a second phase.
The constructor is responsible for the construction of 1#, 2#, 5# and 6# ovens and partial steel structures.
