    Chinese key steel mills' daily crude steel output up 1.5% in mid-Feb, CISA

    Chinese key steel mills registered an increase of 1.50% in daily output of crude steel over February 11-20 compared to previous ten days, according to data released by China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

     

    These steel mills produced 2.10 million tonnes of crude steel averagely each day during the period, up 0.39% from a year ago.

     

    Daily production of pig iron averaged 1.90 million tonnes, up 2.91% from ten days ago and 0.44% from the year prior, while that of finished steel rose 3.78% from ten days ago to 1.99 million tonnes, which also were 3.36% lower year on year, data showed.

     

    During the same period, the daily output of crude steel in China was estimated to be 2.69 million tonnes, rising 1.19% from ten days earlier. That of pig iron was 2.25 million tonnes, up 2.40% compared to previous ten days. Daily finished steel output increased 2.82% from ten days ago to 3.68 million tonnes.

     

    As of February 20, key steel mills held 18.98 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, increasing 17.65% from ten days ago yet falling 2.82% compared to the same period last year.
