China's cumulative market-based electricity trades reached 5,102.59 TWh over the first eleven months this year, up 7.3% compared to the same period last year, representing 61% of the nation's total power consumption, showed data from the China Electricity Council (CEC).
Among the total trades, intra-province trades stood at 4,059.94 TWh in the same period while that of cross-province reached 1,042.65 TWh in the same period, data showed.
By region, trades concluded at exchanges covered by the State Grid totaled 3,987.29 TWh from January-November, up 5.5% year on year, accounting for 60.5% of total power consumption in the region, CEC data showed.
Power trades covered by China Southern Power Grid rose 10.5% to 846.15 TWh, accounting for 58.8% of consumption in five southern provinces – Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan.
There was 269.15 TWh that happened at Inner Mongolia power exchange center, which increased 26.6% year on year and accounted for 78.4% of the region's total.
Of all market-based electricity trades, medium and long-term power supply was 3,992.31 TWh from January-November, rising 6.1% year on year, of which 3,876.19 TWh belonged to intra-province trades and 116.11 TWh cross-province trades.
And the medium and long-term power supply covered by the State Grid was 3,035.66 TWh from January-November, up 4.3% year on year, data showed.
In November, the power trades rose 6.9% year on year to 467.41 TWh, of which 372.06 TWh belonged to intra-province trades while 95.34 TWh cross-province trades, data showed.
Of all market-based power trades in November, medium and long-term power supply stood at 359.25 TWh, increasing 6.3% from the previous year, of which intra-province trades accounted for 348.93 TWh while that of cross-province reached 10.32 TWh, CEC data showed.
