China's coal imports from top supplier Indonesia rose 16% in November from the month before, while those from Australia were up nearly 30%, as utilities restocked for winter power generation.
Indonesian coal imports reached 18.33 million tonnes in November, showed data from the General Administration of Customs on December 20.
China imported a total of 43.51 million tonnes in November, jumping 35% from a year earlier.
Coal imports from Russia dropped further to 7.32 million tonnes last month, the lowest since February, compared to 7.64 million tonnes in October.
Imports from Mongolia, largely of coking coal, totaled 7.89 million tonnes, the highest since at least 2022 and a sharp increase from 5.01 million tonnes in October.
Australian coal arrivals rose to 6.22 million tonnes, the third-highest monthly import this year, rising 28.5% from October's 4.84 million tonnes.
