China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., a listed arm of China Energy Investment Corp, saw its total polyolefin sales rise 7.4% or 4,000 tonnes year on year yet drop 5% or 3,100 tonnes on the month to 58,400 tonnes in November, said the company in a report on December 16.
The company's polyethylene sales were 30,800 tonnes, up 13.7% on the year but down 2.8% month on month. Sales of polypropylene increased 1.1% year on year but fell 7.4% month on month to 27,600 tonnes.
The comparatively high year-on-year growth in November's polyethylene sales was mainly attributed to a lower base in the same period last year.
Total sales of polyolefin from January to November were 646,400 tonnes, up 1% from the preceding year, while polyethylene sales were 331,600 tonnes, up 1.8% from the year-ago level and polypropylene sales were at 314,800 tonnes, a 0.1% uptick.
