China's power generation of all sources totaled 731 TWh in November, a 8.4% rise from a year earlier, showed data from the National Bureau of Statistics on December 15.
The year-on-year growth retreated by 3.2 percentage points compared with that of October. Daily power generation averaged 24.37 TWh in November.
The output of thermal power, mostly coal-fired, totaled 507.7 TWh in November, up 6.3% year on year; hydropower increased 5.4% YoY to 83 TWh; wind power 80.4 TWh, surging 26.6% YoY; nuclear power 36.5TWh, down 2.4%; solar power 23.5 TWh, rising 35.4%, the NBS data showed.
During January-November, China's power generation totaled 8,073.2 TWh, a 4.8% rise from 2022.
Thermal power generation totaled 5,617,8 TWh in the first eleven months this year, up 5.7% year on year; hydropower declined 6.2% YoY to 1,063.6 TWh; wind power climbed 12.5% YoY to 725.2 TWh; nuclear rose 4.5% to 395.2 TWh; and solar gained 16.8% to 271.4 TWh.
