China exported 0.3 million tonnes of coal in October 2023, a 16.2% rise from a year earlier but a 30.23% drop from a month ago, according to latest data released by General Administration of Customs.
Coal export value in October was $66.62 million, down 12.8% on the year and 29.1% on the month. That put the average export price at $222.07/t, falling $83.6/t from the preceding year yet up $3.53/t compared to last month.
In the first ten months of this year, China exported a total 3.47 million tonnes of coal, ticking up by 0.6% from a year ago, which was worth $936.82 million, down 11.7% year on year.
The country's coke and semi-coke exports totaled 0.83 million tonnes in October, 65.2% higher than the same period last year, and the value of which declined 13.76% from the year-ago level to $200.22 million.
Total coke exports reached 7.25 million tonnes in January-October, down 6.9% year on year; the export value was $2.06 billion, a 43.3% decrease from the year before.
