Central China's Hubei province consumed 20.941 TWh of electricity in October, up 6.81% year on year, according to data from the local development and reform commission.
The primary industries, mainly the agricultural sector, consumed 304 GWh of electricity, rising 4.97% from the year-ago level; that of the secondary industries, mainly the industrial sector, totaled 13.559 TWh, up 1.11% on the year; the tertiary industries, mainly the service sector, used 4.075 TWh, up 10.56%.
The residential power consumption was 3.003 TWh, decreasing 6.2% from the previous year.
Total power consumption was 225.02 TWh during January to October, up 0.89% year on year. The power consumption of all three industries increased on the year.
The province's power generation was 17.504 TWh (excluding the volume contributed by Three Gorges) in October, up 3.02% year-on-year. The cumulative output reached 200.69 TWh from January to October (excluding the Three Gorges), up 3.23% year-on-year.
Hydropower plants generated 6.878 TWh of electricity (excluding the Three Gorges), surging 179.09% from a year ago. Thermal power generation was 7.66 TWh, a year-on-year decline of 34.49%; wind power was 1.061 TWh, decreasing 38.82% from the previous year; solar energy generated 1.91 TWh, a year-on-year increase of 72.62%.
