China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., the country's largest listed coal producer, reported its commercial coal production rose 9.1% on the year and 1.1% month on month to 27.5 million tonnes in October.
Coal sales increased 8.4% from the year prior but decreased 1.1% on the month to 37.5 million tonnes last month, the company said in its monthly operation report on November 14.
In the first ten months of this year, the company produced a total 269.5 million tonnes of commercial coal, up 3.4% from a year ago, while sales were 370 million tonnes, rising 7.6% from the previous year.
The giant miner's coal vessel loadings at Huanghua port totaled 19.3 million tonnes in October, up 5.5% year on year and 7.8% month on month; volumes at the company's Tianjin Coal Dock were 3.9 million tonnes, unchanged year on year but up 5.4% from a month ago.
Meanwhile, the firm's power generation totaled 16.2 TWh during the month, rising 7.5% year on year, sending the total to 172.43 TWh during January-October, increasing 9.5% on the year.
Power sales were 15.24 TWh in October alone, a 7.7% rise on the year, while total sales reached 162.07 TWh over the first ten months, rising 9.6% year on year.
