Southwestern China's Yunnan province has sold a cumulative total power of 45.1 TWh since the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was launched a decade ago, contributing to social and economic developments in neighboring countries.
A slew of infrastructure facilities have been built for the power transmission since the province started to power Vietnam through 110KV transmission lines in September 2004.
By the end of September, Yunnan has built 14 sets of 110 KV and higher voltage lines connecting with Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar. During September 2004-August 2023, the province has exported 45.1 TWh of power to these countries through 110 KV-and-above transmission lines.
Yunnan is advancing projects such as the 500 KV China-Laos interconnection and the 230 KV China-Myanmar interconnection, contributing green energy to regional economic development through high-voltage interconnection.
