China exported 66.81 million tonnes of steel products in January-September 2023, rising 31.8% from a year ago, according to latest data released by the General Administration of Customs on October 13.
Export value totaled $65.86 billion during the period, down 10.7% on the year. That put the average export price of steel products at $985.72/t, 32.2% lower than the previous year.
In September alone, finished steel exports were registered at 8.06 million tonnes, a 61.8% year-on-year jump but a 2.6% month-on-month slip, data showed.
The volume was worth $6.56 billion, down 5.9% from a year earlier and 2.2% on the month, with the average export price calculated at $814.2/t, falling 41.8% from the preceding year but rising 0.4% from August.
