    Haoji railway transports over 8 Mt coal so far in 2024

    Haoji railway, the world's longest heavy haul railway for north-to-south coal transportation, had dispatched a total of 2,396 trains or 8.27 million tonnes of coal as of February 3 this year, China News Service reported.

     

    Haoji railway played a significant role in ensuring smooth coal shipments to power utilities in central and southern China. These plants drastically elevated power coal demand in the wake of notable temperature drops.

     

    The 1,814-kilometer railway connects Haolebaoji South railway station in Ordos of Inner Mongolia autonomous region with Ji'an railway station in Jiangxi province, and passes through Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan provinces.

     

    Haoji railway enhances the coal transportation efficiency from major coal producing regions in northern China to the consumption areas in central and southern China, providing reliable shipping capacity to ensure national energy security and serve social and economic development.
