Germany imported 1.97 million tonnes of hard coal in October, falling 36.86% compared to the same month last year, according to preliminary data from German Statistics Bureau.
The imports declined 3.3% from September, data showed.
The import value stood at €392 million (about $408.4 million), a notable 61.89% year-on-year slump and a 6.5% month-on-month fall. That put the average import value at €199.13/t, down 39.65% from a year ago and 3.31% from the previous month.
During the first ten months of 2023, Germany's hard coal imports totaled 22 million tonnes, down 25.72% on the year, with the value of imports falling 47% year on year to €5.05 billion.
