China churned out a total 4.24 billion tonnes of raw coal during the first eleven months this year, a year-on-year increase of 2.9% according to data released by the China National Coal Association (CNCA).
In November alone, coal production in the country reached 410 million tonnes, up 4.6% from a year ago, which expanded by 0.8 percentage point from October. Daily output over the month averaged 13.80 million tonnes.
China's macroeconomy has maintained a positive trajectory since November, with the domestic coal demand increasing rapidly during the peak heating season, the state media CCTV reported.
China has ensured domestic sufficient coal supply, and the overall market has been in balance between supply and demand.
The CNCA said that stable coal output, demand and prices throughout the year have laid a solid foundation for coal supply guarantee across China.
By the end of November, coal inventory in thermal power plants nationwide had exceeded 200 million tonnes, a rise of approximately 6 million tonnes compared to the end of October and 28 million tonnes higher than the same period last year, it said. The stockpiles are available for about 33 days' worth of usage.
