Shuohuang, China's second-longest railway that ships coal from northern production areas to northern ports after Daqin railway, had delivered 341.75 million tonnes of coal for the year to December 5, up 18.01 million tonnes compared with the same period last year.
The shipping volume reached a new high for the same period in the past years, China Energy Investment Corporation (CHN Energy) reported.
The railway, operated by CHN Energy Shuohuang Railway, is an important channel for China's West-to-East coal transportation and is responsible for coal supply guarantee during the winter peak season.
Shuohuang railway shipped 32.48 million tonnes of cargoes in November, rising 2.27 million tonnes from a year ago, surpassing 30 million tonnes for the third strainght month.
Since the fourth quarter, the railway has maintained an average daily traffic volume of more than 1.07 million tonnes, refreshing records 18 times for key transportation indicators including the number of monthly operations of 20,000-tonne heavy trains, daily coal transport volume, and monthly transport volume.
