Raw coal production in northern China's Inner Mongolia stood at 999 million tonnes during January-October, ranking second in the country, up 0.6% year on year, accounting for 26.1% of China's total, according to data from the region's statistics bureau.
Six of the 11 coal-producing leagues and cities in Inner Mongolia showed an increase in raw coal production while five registered decreases.
The raw coal output of Ordos reached 672 million tonnes during the period, rising 2.1%, which accounted for 67.2% of the region's total raw coal output. Hulunbeier, as the main force to ensure coal supply to northeast China, produced 91 million tonnes of raw coal, up 5.7%.
From January to October, the region generated 606.28 TWh of electricity, ranking first in the country, with a year-on-year growth of 13.7%.
The growth rate ranked second in China, accelerating by 0.1 percentage point from the first nine months, maintaining a double-digit growth rate for seven consecutive months.
Thermal power and wind power generation of the region both ranked first in the country, accounting for 9.5% and 15.4% respectively. Solar power generation took up 7.2%, ranking fourth place in China.
Over the last ten months, the new energy power generation in the region stood at 118.24 TWh, accounting for 19.5% of the total, up 20.9% from the preceding year. Wind power output was 99.19 TWh, accounting for 83.9%, up 21.8% from the year prior.
During the same period, the region produced 4.57 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG), ranking first in the country, taking up 27.8% of the country's total, a year-on-year growth of 13.0%.
Coke output totaled 42.11 million tonnes, marking a 9.2% year-on-year growth and ranking second in the country. The volume accounted for 10.3% of the nation's total, data showed.
The above production figures cover enterprises with annual revenue above 20 million yuan ($2.80 million) from their main operations.
