Shandong Energy Group, entrusted with the provincial government's task of coal reserves for winter peak use, has achieved a physical coal reserve of 5.05 million tonnes, surpassing the target of 5 million tonnes three days ahead of schedule, in an effort to ensure a stable energy supply for power generation and heating throughout the eastern province.
The company has leveraged resources outside the province to offset insufficient reserves in local mines, securing 450,000 tonnes of coal from out-of-province mines, including the Jinjitan coal mine in northwestern China's Shaanxi province.
Simultaneously, the company has expanded trade channels by procuring imported coal from international markets.
Since the initiation of the winter peak coal reserves effort, a dedicated team has been established at the North Shandong Coal Storage Base to dynamically monitor the situation regarding coal unloading, storage, and transportation needs for emergency supply.
To facilitate a smooth stock-building, the company started the Zaokuang Comprehensive Logistics Park, with 2.10 million tonnes of static coal reserve capacity, as an additional coal storage base in October.
The logistics part, collaborating with North Shandong base, West Shandong base, and Rizhao port, has formed a "Two Bases, One Port, One Park" reserve system that enhances the scientific and rational layout of reserves, ultimately elevating the coal supply assurance capacity across the entire province.
