Crude steel production at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 67.35 million tonnes in September, rising 0.57% from a year ago, the CISA data showed.
Daily output of crude steel averaged 2.25 million tonnes, dipping 0.42% from August.
The output of pig iron was 61.83 million tonnes during the month, a 2.05% rise year on year, with the daily production up 0.58% on the month to 2.06 million tonnes.
Finished steel production came in at 69.70 million tonnes, up 4.25% from ten days ago; daily output of finished steel rose 0.55% from the previous month to 2.32 million tonnes.
From January to September, CISA key member steel mills produced 634 million tonnes of crude steel, 4.10% higher than the year-ago level. Pig iron output totaled 567 million tonnes, up 4.86% compared to the same period last year, while finished steel production increased 3.93% on the year to 625 million tonnes, data showed.
