Private conglomerate Xinjiang Guanghui Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd. has signed a framework agreement on coal supply with state-owned power producer China Huaneng Group on the sidelines of the 2024 National Coal Trade Conference.
Under the agreement, Guanghui will supply a total 10.9 million tonnes of coal in 2024 to Huaneng's power plants in Gansu, Shandong and northern China ports, according to a statement from Guanghui's official WeChat account.
Guanghui said signing long-term thermal coal contracts helps ensure energy security and stabilize prices, which are important for the healthy development across upstream and downstream industries.
Going forward, Guanghui plans to futher utilize its coal resources and integrated capabilities in production, transportation, storage and sales. The company aims to enhance collaboration with market players in supply and other sectors.
Xinjiang Guanghui is a conglomerate engaged in energy, auto services, real estate and logistics.
During the coal trade fair in Tangshan, Hebei province, 32 major coal miners and end users signed medium- and long-term coal contracts for 2024, with the volume totaling around 400 million tonnes. The conference is set to conclude on December 8.
