Russian coal supplies to domestic market and exported countries totaled 329 million tonnes in January-October 2023, an increase of 8.7 million tonnes or 2.7% year on year, data showed.
Coal delivery to Russia's domestic market ticked up 1.2% from a year ago to 148 million tonnes in the period.
Of the amount, 75.1 million tonnes were sent to power plants, up 6.4% on the year; 33.1 million tonnes were delivered to coking plants, rising 11.4% on a yearly basis; and 39.8 million tonnes were provided to other users, down 13.3% from a year earlier.
Apart from the supply to domestic market, Russia's coal exports reached 181.3 million tonnes in the first 10 months, up 3.9% over the same period of last year, according to the country's energy ministry.
