India's coal production reached 84.52 million tonnes in November, increasing 10.96% from 76.17 million tonnes in the same period last year and 7.46% from 78.65 million tonnes in October this year, which marked a significant growth for the second consecutive month and hit a new high in current fiscal year (April-November), showed data from Ministry of Coal in India.
In November, Coal India Limited (CIL) produced 66.02 million tonnes of coal, up 8.76% year on year and 8.11% month on month. Coal production of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) reached 6.08 million tonnes, rising 0.5% year on year and 5.01% month on month. The output of self-owned coal mines and other coal was 12.42 million tonnes, up 31.85% on the year and 5.34% on the month, data showed.
India's total coal production so far this fiscal year (April-November) was 591 million tonnes, up 12.72% from 525 million tonnes in the same period last year.
From April-November, coal output of CIL was 460 million tonnes, rising 11.48% year on year. That of SCCL was 43.19 million tonnes, up 6.66% on the year level. Self-owned coal mines and other coal produced 88.23 million tonnes of coal, up 23.33% compared with the same period last year, data showed.
In November, total coal sales in India stood at 82.22 million tonnes, up 10.59% from 74.34 million tonnes a year earlier. Total sales were 624 million tonnes from April-November, up 11.75% year on year.
CIL's coal dispatches were 63.08 million tonnes. SCCL sold 5.94 million tonnes of coal, and self-owned coal mines and other coal sold 13.2 million tonnes.
India has supplied 493 million tonnes of coal to power sector from April-November, increasing 13.78% compared with the same period last year, showed data from the Ministry of Coal in India.
