China's coal mining and washing industry earned a total profit of 652.06 billion yuan (around $91.86 billion) in the first ten months of the year, falling 26.6% year on year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The total revenue of the coal mining and washing industry stood at 2,872.14 billion yuan during the period, down 14.1% on the year, while costs were registered at 1,833.68 billion yuan, 7.9% lower than the year-ago level.
The profit in all mining industries of the country declined 19.7% year on year to 1,114.25 billion yuan in January-October, while revenue reached 5,000.82 billion yuan, down 9.7% from a year ago. Costs of the all mining industries were 3,207.6 billion yuan, sinking 4.4% from a year earlier.
From January to October, major industrial enterprises (with annual revenue from main business operations of 20 million yuan or more) across all fields reported 6,115.42 billion yuan of profit, down 7.8% year on year. Their revenue came in at 107.78 trillion yuan, up 0.3% year on year, while the total cost rose 0.6% to 91.63 trillion yuan, the NBS data showed.
